Unintended Bias and Errors of Interpretation

Science is a rational pursuit and biases by definition are exceptions to reason. It excites the imagination there should be such stark exceptions to Common Sense, and entire disciplines (e.g., Critical Thinking+) have sprung up to address them. For example, the well-studied bias called the Confirmation Error+ forms the basis of the popular book The Fifth Discipline which in term is the basis for many management consulting assignments in industry. Survey participants identified several behaviors that have biases and errors of interpretation as their basis.
